Meet Kylie and Her Family

Kylie R. is a 30-year-old wife, mother, daughter, and artist from Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania who is courageously facing progressing recurrent, metastatic osteosarcoma of the right femur with spread to her lungs and local recurrence in her thigh. Over the past year, she has endured more than 20 hospitalizations, multiple surgeries, intensive chemotherapy, and ongoing complications, all while continuing to show extraordinary strength, resilience, and grace.

Through every challenge, Kylie remains deeply focused on her greatest joy, her 3-year-old daughter Hayden, who is the center of her world. She is supported by her husband, her mother, and her best friend. Despite everything she is facing, Kylie continues to show up with determination, warmth, and a powerful commitment to creating meaningful moments with her family.

Their One Day to Remember

For their One Day to Remember, Kylie and her family spent an unforgettable day at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh. From the moment they arrived, the day was filled with excitement, wonder, and connection as they experienced incredible animal encounters together, including a memorable Penguin Encounter that quickly became a family favorite.

Hayden’s joy was especially evident as she explored and experienced the animals alongside her family. The day offered Kylie a rare and meaningful chance to step away from treatment and simply be present with the people she loves most.

The experience continued with a beautiful dinner at the Grand Concourse, where the setting and shared meal added another layer of warmth to an already unforgettable day.

More Than Just One Day

For Kylie, the most meaningful part of the experience was being fully present with her family during such a difficult chapter. With treatment continuing and her journey shifting into a new phase, this day became a moment to focus on connection, laughter, and love.

Hayden’s happiness throughout the day was incredibly powerful for Kylie, creating a memory she deeply hopes will stay with her daughter for years to come. In the midst of uncertainty, the day offered something steady and lasting: time together.

Why This Day Mattered

This day gave Kylie and her family something invaluable, a chance to pause, breathe, and create joy together. It became a reminder that even in the hardest seasons, meaningful moments are still possible.

I want you all to know just how much this meant to me, truly, to create such a wonderful memory with my family and especially my daughter. I hope when she’s older, she looks back on this day and says ‘This was one of my most favorite days’.
